I am a new Ham Radio operator and bought a dual band radio. It came with a USB dongle to install a driver and to use with software to download frequencies into my radio. I plugged the dongle in and it said it had installed and was ready. I am using Chirp software. When I opened the software, chose my radio and hit to download, it came up with an "error has occurred, could not open port, ft232r usb uart driver download, Error 3".
I went to Device Manager and it ft232r usb uart driver download the yellow triangle on the FTR USB UART and on COMM 3. I originally could not find any COMM ports. I went into Action, scan Legacy Hardware and it added COMM 3, ft232r usb uart driver download, no other ports were seen and it did not change, still has the triangle, error If I could get my COMM ports back I would happy and figure out the FTDI dongle later.
